Digital PR that actually earns links
July 21, 2026

Digital PR is the highest ceiling channel in outreach and the easiest one to run badly. The difference is almost never the writing. It is whether the angle is genuinely newsworthy and whether the follow-up happens on time.
Start with the angle, not the client
Journalists cover stories, not companies. Before you write a pitch, decide what a reader learns from it: a number nobody had, a trend with evidence, or a reaction from someone with standing to give it.
- Original data from your own product or customers beats a survey of 500 strangers.
- Local and trade press convert far better than national for a first campaign.
- One strong angle sent to 30 relevant reporters outperforms three weak angles sent to 300.
Own the follow-up window
Most PR wins land on the second touch, two to four working days after the first. Teams lose them because nobody owns the reminder. Give every pitch an owner and a follow-up date on the day it is sent, and treat a missed follow-up as a missed placement.
Report coverage the way the brand thinks about it
Brands care about three things: where did we appear, is the link live, and is it still live. Give them a won list with the source page, the inserted link, the anchor and a verification date, exportable in one click.
That single view ends the monthly reporting deck. The brand checks it whenever they like, and your team stops rebuilding it.
